The main objective of this project was to contribute to answer the first two questions adressed to foresters and wood industry managers facing storm damaged forests:

1.How to harvest the wind fallen or broken trees in safe economic and ecological ways, to prevent fungus or insect diseases and fire risks and allow for forest restoration?
2.How to keep the wood quality to save the wood industry supply and the foresters' incomes through efficient log storage and conservation methods?

You will find on the website:
- a Technical Guide in english, french and german about harvesting and conservation of storm damaged timber

- The State of the Art for Log Conservation have been put on the web for some week ago (just in english). This is the first time that kind of compliation have been done.
