*A forest management association is rated the second best work place in Finland

The Itä-Häme Forest Management Association, a local association of the national forest owners' organization, was rated second best in a study made of the best Finnish work places in 2005.

The Association competed in the category for public and non-profit organizations.

This Best Work Places study is based on the "Great Place to Work" concept and this was the third time that the study has been made in Finland.

The Itä-Häme Forest Management Association participated in the study and in the competition for the purpose of even further improving the quality of its operations, its education and training, its customer service and well-being at work. That is the reason why we wanted to have Finland's best work places as our peer group so that we can do an even better job than before, says Mr Jari Yli-Talonen, the Association's Managing Director.

The study comprised three categories; general category, big organizations' category (more than 500 persons) and the public and non-profit organizations' category.

In Finland the Best Work Places Study is conducted by the company LTT-Tutkimus Oy, an enterprise owned by the Helsinki School of Economics. The results were published in the latest number of the magazine Kauppalehti Optio (3/2005).
