* The wood and furniture industry in Lithuania 2004
The outlook of wood and furniture industy of Lithuania 2004 was prepared by local consulting company EKT for the LITHUANIAN DEVELOPMENT AGENCY.
Wood, furniture and paper products industry is one of its fastest growing and most promising manufacturing industries in Lithuania. Since 1999, the industry has grown significantly faster than the manufacturing industry as a whole in Lithuania. Total sales of wood, furniture and paper branches in 2003 totalled 869.6 million EUR (of which exports amounted 777.4 million EUR). Duriing 2003, the total sales of the wood and wood products branch increased by 22%, furniture branch by 23% and in the paper branch by 7%. Wood,furrniture and paper branches manufacture 10% of the entire output of the industry.
